A substantial part of the job is loading, off loading and handling and moving casegoods around.
The job:
Pays about $14 - $15 to start
Typically averages between 45 and 55 hours per week.
Regular hours are 6-2:30.
Mostly M-F w/ the infrequent Saturday morning delivery. No Sundays, no Holidays.
Sudden and unexpected OT, early morning starts (usually no earlier than 3:30; 5am is common), some evening deliveries.
22' box trucks, all automatic. No CDL.
Must have adequate local driving experience and geographical knowledge of Seattle, Greater Puget Sound area and environs.
Cannot have commitments (like school or work release) that might interfere w/ the hours required for the job
Must pass nicotine (cotinine) screening, drug use before, during and before conversion, background check. Drivers are entrusted w/ keys and gas credit cards and must be fully vetted for trustworthiness.
Drivers will load their trucks, have helper(s) as needed, drive to the delivery spot, offload truck, use elevators and loading docks and alleys downtown, etc.
Use hand trucks, dollies, drywall carts as needed to accomplish move without damage to themselves, the casegoods or job site.
